Paul Grayson is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the
Indianapolis Zoo. In this role Grayson oversees the zoological, botanical, education, conservation and research, and long-range planning programs for the institution. An interpretive naturalist and biologist by training, Grayson is recognized as a leader in informal education in zoos and aquariums. He has served on several national and international education committees, including as an advisor to the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, World Wildlife Fund (US), and International Union for the Conservation of Nature (Switzerland). Paul has developed a number of innovative education programs in conjunction with private sector partners such as Ameritech and Indianapolis Newspapers, Inc. that have become nationally recognized. Paul shares a passion for making a difference in the world and a particular passion for saving
elephants. The Indianapolis Zoo has conducted groundbreaking elephant reproductive research and has reached out to audiences around the world with education programs on the plight of the
African elephant, using the internet, video conferencing technology and television documentaries.
