Fauna & Flora International (FFI) established the Cambodian Elephant Conservation Group (CECG) to ensure the survival of the Asian elephant in Cambodia. FFI provides technical support and secures funding for agreed priorities. This complements the decision-making responsibilities, and technical capacity of two separate government wildlife management agencies, the Department of Nature Conservation & Protection responsible for the Protected Areas system and the Forestry Administration, responsible for the broader Cambodian forest estate.

This project will conserve key elephant habitat including historical elephant corridors by piloting Participatory Land Use Planning (PLUP) at Prey Proseth Village, O'Bakrotes Commune, Kompong Speu Province, and causing the future cessation of all forest clearing and encroachment on the forest estate surrounding Prey Proseth Village, O'Bakrotes Commune, Kompong Speu Province as a result of clear boundary demarcation from PLUP.
